Aerospace
The emphasis on cost,
reliability and durability in the aerospace and aircraft industry
has resulted in an increased demand for porous PTFE products.
PTFE offers a unique combination
of desirable properties:
• Temperature resistance
-200°C to +260°C
• Smooth non-stick low friction surface
• Chemical resistance
• Mechanical strength
• Durability
• Controlled microwave DK
• Low electrical dissipation
PTFE is a material of
choice for aerospace specifiers for very demanding applications
in aggressive chemical and high heat environments. PTFE products
are resistant to attack by nearly all chemical reagents, including
organic and inorganic acids, alkalines, ketones, esters, alcohols,
fuels and hot water. The primary uses for these high performance
materials include seals, valves, gaskets, spacers, insulation,
diaphragms, cable guides, and other parts used in the aerospace
industry.
